My Everyday Makeup Products

Believe me when I say that I'm far from ever being considered a beauty junky or a makeup guru, but that doesn't mean that I don't value a dab of concealer and a swipe of brow gel to make me look alive and well. I'm all for having a simplified beauty routine that makes me look and feel a bit more like myself in five minutes or less (guaranteed, or your money back) and I've been able to do just that with some help from my favorite products, let's get to it shall we?

I keep my face makeup very simple, I hate the feeling of too much makeup and this is about the extent that I can put up with. I'm lucky to not have to deal with acne or scarring, but I have some hyper pigmentation and some dark circles that apparently are included in my college tuition (and won't go away no matter how much sleep or water I get). I used the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Cafe for years but switched to the Sephora Make No Mistake Concealer in Anise as a cheaper option. This concealer brings a lot of coverage without being too thick or heavy. I apply it under my eyes and blend out onto my cheekbones using my beauty blender which actually changed my life in case you were wondering. I do feel like this concealer needs a bit of powder (currently on the hunt for one!) to set it and keep it in place, but otherwise it's a great afforadable option. On days where I want more of an even glow or some extra coverage, I'll use my Glossier Skin Tint in Rich. I know this item is hit or miss for a lot of people, and I definitely agree that Glossier makes makeup for people who "don't need makeup", but there's something about this product that makes my skin look amazing yet real. It's incredibly light so it doesn't drive me crazy having it on but it has this way of blurring my skin to make it look soft and even without completely masking it. I'm on my second bottle so it's safe to say I'm a bit of a fan. To finish off my face I always swipe some MAC Raizin blush on my cheeks to add warmth and color. I've been using this for years and hasn't failed me yet.

In terms of eyes and lips, again quick and simple win the race. When I'm really feeling myself, I go to my NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Starwoman which is a killer shade of red. This lipstick is pigmented yet lightweight with some serious lasting power. However, for day to day I typically just stick to whatever chapstick I have on hand, usually sticking with Neutrogena, Burt's Bees, or Glossier for something a bit heavier. For eyes L'Oreal's Telescopic mascara has been my go to for awhile and this could easily be my fourth tube. It's great for adding length and it makes my lashes look killer once I've used it for a while and it has the chance to dry out slightly. I go through phases where I love eyeliner or avoid it like the plague but the NYX Epic Ink Liner is great to have on hand and makes doing a thin line or a full on cat eye super easy. Finally to round out my makeup arsenal is probably the most divisive product I own– Glossier's Boy Brow. I really love this product, as someone who has never gotten their brows done and fears using a pencil or gel and going completely overboard, Boy Brow is great at taming my brows while defining them enough to be presentable. The brush head is super small which helps you get those pesky "sprouts" as they call them at the front of your eyebrows. My only qualm is that I feel like it's overpriced for what it is. At $16 for 0.1 oz of product it's definitely more expensive than other products (Anastasia brow gel is $8 more but has 3x the size) and I'm on the fence about repurchasing it, but I'm a sucker for those damn pink Glossier bags and do love using it so I might just bite the bullet.
